Why I went missing

imageSorry its been a couple of weeks since the last email, busy, busy times here at Nutri Tri.

That and me and the bread knife (thats wife for my none cockney friends – oops I am not cockney either) went away to Brugge for a child free break.

Lucky us, the problem?

Belgian chocolate, overly strong beer, good coffee and cake and no training – we all know what that is a recipe for!

I have been trimming down a little recently (currently 74kg ish), going for sub 70 in the next couple of months.  As usual I am experimenting with different nutritional protocols, firstly on myself but the Brugge trip got in the way.

One thing is for sure though – I am not prepared to sacrifice my whole life for a little weight loss and nor should you.

And, you don’t have to.

I have said this before and I will say it again, get it right 80% of the time and when faced with little romantic trips or excesses of any kind, you will come out of the other end just fine.

Maybe you will have a little extra water weight due to the greater levels of intra muscular glycogen, but that will soon go after a couple of hour long turbos.

You see, I think that a lot of people see eating well as sacrifice but its not, its the complete opposite if you get it right.

It makes you feel good – look good and perform better.

The trouble is for lots of people eating well, means eating less and often bland and thats no fun.

Sometimes bland is necessary but not day in day out forever – anyway more on that next week.

I am making a little change to these emails by featuring some other peoples info, nutritional or training but only relevant so don’t worry.

Why?

Well – I trawl the internet day in, day out for interesting triathlon related stuff – you might not have time so see it as a little present from me to you.

Useful links:

Talking of 60 min turbos, led me to this:

Basically a good way of doing a sub 60 min turbo and that can’t be a bad thing.

I think a lot of triathletes make the mistake of only going long and not going hard – this should see to that and give you more time to do other cool stuff too!

p.s – if you know anyone who may want to feature in this email, pop them my details and I’ll check them out.  This email list is growing out of control so it might help get there name out there – only if its a good one though!
