“Scales scales on the floor
Who is the thinnest of them all?
Not you fatty!!”
Another week and no more weight lost.
“Why – how can it be?
It must be my genes.
My friends don’t have this trouble, all they need to do is not have pudding and they lose weight.
Why is it so difficult for me?”
This conversation will be familiar with most of you, it is one I have had with myself for most of my life.
It’s probably the reason I’ve ended up being a nutritionist. Because I just didn’t get why I couldn’t lose weight.
But guess what, its not all about the scales.
I’ve just come off the phone from Jackie who I’ve been working with for the past few months – since Christmas Jackie has lost 7cm from her waist measurement.
Yes, she’s dropped some weight on the scales as well but her measurements have come down more than her weight would suggest.
Why?
Well, as athletes you use your bodies in an extreme way.
Although you’re not bodybuilders that still means you will build some muscle tissue as a result of all the training you do. This will of course vary depending on your circumstances, such as training age etc.
However, you will have more than just the average Joe who spends they’re days at a desk and nights in front of the TV.
So, don’t just trust the scales – take some measurements as well.
This is all part of what I do with my on line clients but you’ll probably know I can’t take on any more at the moment.
There is a waiting list – which will have some space in the next few weeks so just drop me a message if you want in.
If not, carry on wondering why the scales hate you!

RECIPE:
This is really easy but tasty.
Wrap a cod fillet in pama ham and place in the oven.
Meanwhile fry some chorizo and steam some sweet potato and kale.
Mash the potato, add the Kale and Chorizo and serve with the fish.
Easy, tasty and really good for you.
