5 tips for more energy

imageDo you ever wish you felt like you did 20 years ago?

You were fresh, didn’t ache and could actually attack your training without worrying about how tired you would feel the next day.

If you felt like this now, how much faster could you go?

Who knows for definite but I think its fair to say – Faster!

I make no promises about taking you back to the mid nineties of the Oasis vs Blur  days (in case you were wondering I was Oasis all the way) and fresh legs but you can make things better – How?

1) – Eat a carbohydrate dense meal before bed.  This will make you sleep better because of the corresponding drop in blood sugar making you feel tired when you want to, not in the mid afternoon.

2) –  Be sure to get enough protein, ideally animal sources.  Aim for a palm sized portion with each meal including breakfast.

3) – Remove or at least minimise gluten in the diet.  Gluten is for a lot of people inflammatory meaning the gut wont function properly.  Even if you don’t think you have an issue here – try removing it for a couple of weeks and see how much better you feel.

4) – Eat your carbs mainly around your training to help fuel the session and recover.  A good rule is low GI pre training, high GI post.

5) – Make sure you don’t drink raw tap water.  The water has minerals removed/lessened which means we won’t absorb as much into the cells as we would like.  Try popping a pinch of organic salt into your water to help the cells absorb what you drink.

Now, just doing this for one day will have little effect – dial it in for a week and you will notice a difference, a month and you may well start thinking that its cool to wear your jeans with your underpants hanging out like the kids these days!!

Weird I know!
