Unfortunately there are certain foods that we just don’t like.
Foods that are often good for us but we cant stomach.
For me, I hate tomatoes – I can manage them cooked or in a sauce but don’t like them raw.
The other day though I was eating a bought salad which had them in and I gave them a go – I still don’t like them!!
One food which is almost universally despised is liver.
Yet it really is that good for us – See below for ways of getting liver into your diet if you cant stomach it.
But, what about your liver – not eating it but the function of it?
Liver health is critical to overall health and certainly when you are positively trying to alter your body fat %.
Its detoxyfying role means if it is working well, it will clear out that “cheat” meal or extra glass of wine more efficiently and in turn lead to less fat gains.
Below are some ways that you can improve the health of your liver:
– As always eat lots of veg
– Good sources of protein, like fish, meat, organ meats and eggs
– Plenty of antioxidants – berries are my favourite, the brighter and more varied the colour the better.
– Supplement with some omega 3 and milk thistle.
– Drink plenty of water.
You may notice that a lot of these are common themes amongst any good nutrition plan whether it be for liver health or not.
A lot of people say to me that nutrition is so complicated and they don’t know what to believe.
It really is simple, the hard thing is changing your habits and that is where coaching can help.
Not just a list of food to eat but actually finding ways to help you eat it – not the stuff you don’t like mind!
Sounds simple I know but if it were that easy everyone would be able to do it.
It’s not nutrition knowledge which lets most people down, just implementation.
I’ll let you know the changes I’ve made to Nutri Tri to try and help you more – some which will be you helping yourself – some is coaching.
