It amazes me that is this day and age there are so many people who still eat so badly.
Despite there being an awful lot of good information out there on nutrition, there is unfortunately still an awful lot of bad!
Yesterday I was in a cafe listening to somebody give nutritional advice, it went like this:
1 – You can eat as much pasta as you like
2 – Muller light yogurts are free, so yo can eat as many as you like (for my on uk readers, these are sugar laden, low fat, slime in a pot)
3 – Don’t drink more than 50 ml of milk a day (that’s skimmed milk)
The list goes on and on.
In case you are wondering, I am NOT a fan of this advice!
There was no mention of eating sufficient fat or protein.
There was no mention of fruit or vegetables.
There was no mention of exercise.
If you’re reading this, I hope you have the exercise nailed but what about your nutrition?
Do you still subscribe to these fads?
Low fat, high sugar, processed crap?
There are unfortunately still an awful lot of people who do.
And what baffles me the most, is that they still wonder why they are not losing weight.
They do the same thing year in, year out and get exactly the same result.
I believe it was the great Albert Einstein who said:
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”
I have been in this position myself but didn’t realise it at the time.
The sad thing is, that often just a little change can make a big difference.
One of the smallest things is actually having some support.
This is why I set up my Private Coaching Group – The Total Triathlete:
