This Sunday just gone, I had a nutritional fail.
I tell you this because we are all likely to have this sort of thing happen over the coming weeks.
Generally me and my family are pretty organised with our food and meal times.
It’s important to me to eat well, mainly because it makes me feel so much better.
Physically and mentally!
Anyway, on Sunday I was not prepared – we basically had not been shopping and had no food in.
Most of the shops were shut, so it was either a takeaway, or something from the very small local shop.
Shop it was.
Long story short we had pizza, ice cream, beer, etc etc.
Now I don’t mind eating this stuff sometimes, but on Saturday we had been out and I had already over indulged and I didn’t want to do it again – Alas I did.
That Sunday night meal added up to 1800 calories.
Nearly a days worth in one go – I had already had 1200 and it was a rest day from training.
Once in a while this is fine but yesterday I made some changes to my diet to take the extra calories from Sunday into account.
Anyone guess what it was?
Yes, I ate less.
One day of eating less wasn’t enough though, I will, have to do the same again today to even it out.
I tell you this because it is SO easy to over consume on proceeded food calories.
Even I was surprised to see how much I had eaten on that Sunday night.
1000 calories in a pizza – it was even that big, or tasty.
A waste of calories actually!
My point is:
If you over consume, for whatever reason, it is always better if you plan it.
For example, eat less the day before and less the day after, that way you will even out the calories.
It is also worth taking a note of everything you eat on a bad day – it is surprising just how bad they can be, without even feeling that full.
The key as always is to get back on it straight away, with healthy, filling, nourishing meals.
Food that will fix you.
Now is the time of year to be even more “Good” when you can be.
If you are VERY good and VERY bad, you will end up in the middle and hopefully gain no weight.
