Well, have you done it yet?
Did you achieve the goals you set for yourself this year?
I truly hope so.
Obviously everyones ambitions are different but the chances are, if you are reading this – that one of yours was to lose some fat.
You wanted to improve your body:
Its performance.
Its health.
Its appearance.
Essentially you wanted to feel better.
I get that 100%, I’ve been there myself and I’ve worked with hundreds of triathletes with that aim.
It’s not easy, there are so many things which can derail us.
Whilst lack of knowledge can be one, this is not usually the main issue.
You see, as humans we all inherently look for the easiest way of achieving an outcome – efficiency if you like.
It’s in us all and can easily be mistaken for laziness.
Why though would we want to make it harder for ourselves than it has to be?
The thing with losing fat though, is that we do just that.
We attack it hard, we essentially starve ourselves and it’s no surprise that this can NOT last.
We run out of energy (literally) and enthusiasm.
Before we know it, were back where we started.
Another problem with the human brain is the desire for instant results, which goes hand in hand with the above.
We need constant reassurance that what we are doing is right, hence why some people weigh themselves everyday………..
Why do that?
To see if yesterday was THAT bad, or whether we got away with it?
These are both flaws in the human character when it comes to fat loss.
To be successful we need to manage this well.
We need to understand that if we lose a pound a week for 2 months, we will feel remarkably better and probably won’t even be that hungry, especially if you follow the right nutrition plan.
