How extreme are you?

UnknownAthletes have many characteristics, some positive and some not so.

I find good athletes tend to get more from life as a whole, because they are prepared to put themselves on the line.

Risk failing in order to succeed.

They then take this attitude into their work and business lives and most often succeed.

I guess thats one of the reasons parents want their kids to be involved in sport – it teaches them how it feels to lose, or not do well and that will motivate many to work hard and do better.

I don’t think of myself as extreme but my wife thinks I am odd!
I like to train sometimes more than once a day
I spend 3 minutes in a freezing cold shower every morning – look up the health benefits!
I like feeling uncomfortable and taking chances
The last one can lead to some really amazing positives in life.

For example – I gave up my safe, full time job earning £35,000 10 years ago as I turned 30.

The prospects were good but I was bored.

Now I work for myself, on my terms and have built a successful business.

It was a risk but it worked.

The thing is, these characteristics do NOT work when it comes to nutrition.

Why?

Yes, you can be extreme for short periods but if you continue you will fail.

Simply, you will harm your physical health and your performance will suffer.

You will NOT be making yourself stronger but actually you will catabolising (burning muscle) yourself and hence make yourself weaker.

Many triathletes I work with have gone too hard with their nutrition.

A bit like going off too fast on a run – you will pay the price later on!

A good nutrition plan will be progressive, it will alter as you alter.

It will nourish you, NOT starve you.

It will make you leaner but also healthier.

There is no point being skinny and slow.

It’s why I wrote my E-book – The Triathlete Nutrition Code:

E-Book

To help triathletes eat better and achieve their goals.

You are not a normal person.

You are more extreme and that means your diet needs to be different.

It isn’t just a matter of eating less.

You need to eat right but right for you.

If you’re not sure whether you are, ask yourself these questions:

Are you happy with:
your body fat levels
your performance
your health,
your energy levels
your appearance?”
If the answer to any is NO, do something about it.

Get the book and make a difference, all for £9.99/12 USD ish:
