Humans are an impatient breed and fat loss is no better an example.
When we embark on a diet, we are generally making sacrifices.
Giving something up!
Not eating as much, or eating blander food.
Perhaps removing alcohol.
And also increasing training.
It is then, no wonder at all that people trying to lose fat are miserable – some of lifes simple pleasures have been taken away.
It can though be worth it if we see results – quick results.
It is those results which keep us motivated – which make the sacrifice worth while.
So when that sacrifice leads to moderate results, maybe only 1 pound a week, we get despondent.
Quite simply:
“The juice is NOT worth the squeeze”
Ordinarily dieters will then make sure that their diet is aggressive, so that it is worth it but as we know, if it is extreme it is unsustainable.
So lets reframe:
Would you benefit from a 12 pound fat loss?
Would you be happy, if by the middle of June you were nearly 1 stone lighter?
Would you be even happier if that meant you could eat tasty foods, foods which DON’T feel like a sacrifice?
Of course you would.
But that is too good to be true, isn’t it?
NO, not if you do it right.
You see for most people, having a nourishing diet filled with micro nutrients and the correct macro nutrient ratios is what counts.
Calories are of course relevant but by doing the above you will be eating less energy dense food.
Combine this with the extra nourishment which will help with recovery and balancing of hormones – then you can lose fat.
And that can be without significant sacrifice – it is even enjoyable.
You feel fuller – fitter and lighter.
